you cant go with bear legs, you just either cant wear the miniskirt or you have to wear something under, something that doesn't show your skin. SO basically, no you cant wear it in public. I know.
Are you serious? God I hope not. You would have to stay completely covered up and you would not be allowed to be educated and you would not be allowed to work. Your job would be to let your man beat you up, and sit in the backseat of his car. And you are right, this is America. We shouldn't have to conform for anyone else. I don't think God said women had to be completely covered up and I just hate to see some woman walking around the United States when it's 95 degrees outside and all covered up like that. But I guess it's her choice to be treated that way.
When I was in Egypt, visiting the church in the Sinai Peninsula believed to be at the base of the mountain where Moses got the Ten Commandments, I was required to put a skirt on OVER the bermuda shorts I was wearing. (Talk about *strange* -- since I'm a guy!) But that was a CHRISTIAN church.
While I travelled the Middle East, I had no problem wearing bermudas into mosques... so I'm guessing that miniskirts should be okay there, too.
Don't be afraid to put it on. The worst that would happen to you would be something akin to that which happened to me in Sinai.
That being said, you might not want to do it in one of those REPRESSIVE and sexist countries where women are being forced to traipse around in burkas.

Not all Muslim countries are the same.
I would say to all the people that answered your questions, they need to be more educated and open minded.
I am assuming none of them even visited a Muslim country or even went out of there states.
Countries you can wear anything:( Lots of European tourists )
Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Qatar, U.A.E, Turkey just to name a few.
Countries you can be somewhat free (Limited)
Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco.
And of course there are countries like. Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan and now Iraq. they take there religion to the extreme. ( Extremist)

No, you would and by their laws could be punished if you were a citizen. Especially in more extremist countries like Iran where the women have to wear coverage from the top of their head to their toes.
With regard to religious tolerance and acceptance of others beliefs America is actually more tolerant than most with regard to allowing people to try and live a spiritual life. I know many Christians are going to flay me on this issue, but there is nothing in the seperation of Church and State that prevents a student from praying over their meals, wearing crosses to school (depending on the dress code), reading the bible on school grounds. The same can be said for Muslim or Islamic children, in fact in some schools they are given a special room to pray in given the strict ideaology of their religion in some regions.
I think you should go try it and report back. I for one would like to know who is right Bonnie D. or Soumbooki. Good luck!
