Just becuase this amnesty bill was defeated, have you stopped calling, faxing, e-mailing your congressmen?
Answer:
Nope,i've gone through 2 rounds of emails and 2 rounds of phone calls and i'll do it again before bed,my family have done the same.
They defeated it? That's great! Your question is very thought-provoking. It is easy to go back to complacency once an immediate danger blows over - let's not fall into this trap anymore. The future of the US depends on it!
More pressure. The rat-bastards still have not gotten the message. Your Congressmen are your enemy, they are working against the best interests of every American citizen, it is time to go after them and make sure they know it. George Bush is the biggest enemy of them all, and he is the first that should be deported.
It hasn't stopped and it probably won't for a long time.My Illinois senators are pieces of crap and they really got an ear full today.I can't wait to vote them out of office.
Funny you should ask this. Here's what I wrote to Arlen Specter:
Dear Senator Specter,
As a law-abiding, tax-paying citizen who has seen the utter failure of the amnesty from 1986's so-called "Immigration Reform" bill, I am delighted that this latest bogus amnesty bill has failed -- despite the pledge that OUR representatives are vowing to push through amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, who have lived off of my tax dollars for years.
This bill is nothing short of a brokered deal to earn votes, and I am disappointed that you and your colleagues have sold out American citizens who demand that our laws be enforced!
This is not a bill that I trust politicians -- any politician -- to shepherd with the good faith of American citizens. Rather, I would like to see a referendum on the 2008 ballot.
Let the American people decide, since you and your colleagues have obviously ignored the American people's wishes. Illegals are *not* American citizens. They are criminals.
I'm still hammering them daily. Since this broke 3 weeks ago, I've sent over 500 emails, made about 30 phone calls and sent a couple of dozen faxes to my Legislators and the President.
Edit: Great question btw.
Keep the pressure on em'. No amnesty
VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS
Keep up the pressure, they're buckling! Build the WALL!
The amnesty bill technically was not defeated completely. But it definetly was a victory. And yes I am still going to keep the pressure on my congressmen. I strongly believe that we need to secure our borders and enforce all of our laws. There is no reason we should get a new set of laws when we cant even manage to enforce the ones we currently have.
I've paused, however lobbying has gotten very intense on capital hill from those who want the bill, and we do need to send 'thank yous' to those who helped, and press our position on those who wavered.
keep up the pressure and at every chance get it out in the media that you oppose amnesty and worker programs. also include in your correspondence a statement of rejection of the anchor baby clause. the borders have got to be secured. we are being invaded and taken over by a foreign country without a shot being fired.
Great point Dar.. I'll be sure to send a thank you to the one person here in CA. that voted against it! That other chick. wow can't wait to vote her OUT!
I am still calling and e-mailing, I just e-mailed Boxer and Feinstein yesterday and told them I am going to do everything in my power to convince people to not vote for them or anyone else who favors amnesty.
yes still emailing and calling..
