I think too many liberals are intolerant of anyone who disagrees with them. They are so convinced they are right that they will accuse those who disagree of being stupid, ignorant, or crazy. Many in the middle have reported, and it is my experience, also, that conservatives will engage you in meaningful debate, but that liberals will eventually turn to name-calling. At the same time, they say they value "diversity." Go figure!
Liberals only like free speech if it agrees with them. The world that is coming is going to be a sad and miserable place. I am glad that when it comes I will have died fighting it.
If anyone favors free speech it would be Liberals. The term Liberal indicates a willingness to listen and participate Conservative does not.
Some Liberals and Some Conservatives favor more discussion on issues some do not. Mostly it has to do with attitude. If one is smug with an attitude of my way or the highway they do not want free speech. I think they are afraid that free speech will expose their idiotic viewpoints.

Yeah, like the student protests of the INVITED Minuteman speaker at Columbia which 'shut down' speech as even the Constitutional Law Scholar who is head of the University had to admit. It is one thing to comment on it or picket it, it is another to stop the speaker from being heard - his own right of free speech. I have heard that in the UK you can't even say coffee is black -not sure if that is a law or a PC imposition - but it's nuts.
What distinguishes liberals is that they want to use Gov, as a unifying and coordinating force for good. The problem being the force part, and the anti-freedom results delivered to democracy's losers. There is nothing inherently anti free speech, past that force, in liberal philosophy The bulk of liberals acknowledge that discussion is part of democracy, so they are open to just about any speech that isn't hate speech.

Typically the charge of liberals as anti-speech is leveled by hate groups and types who want to use the commons of speech to further their coordination of malevolence. Hate types are typically extremely ignorant, and always arrogant. This one here, fails to spell "occupied", and even the rather simple "threat". In person this slovenly image extends to poor hygiene.

What Free Speech? We have Free speech again!!! How did the ACLU let that happen? Does that now mean I can say Merry Christmas without fear of offending someone? Can we put "under God" back in the pledge of allegiance? can we again call an "undocumented worker" an illegal alien? Can we once again voice our opinion without the liberal elite labeling us racist?
