I am in need urgently for someone who knows about an American applying for elective residence in Italy! Please

I am a 20 year old American girl who has spent time in Italy as an AuPair for the most wonderful family who now sees me not as an aupair because we all do everything together but as a sister to the kids and daughter to them. I am trying desperately to get back over there for longer, at least one year at this point...then I can apply for a work visa...they aren't accepting them at this time. I looked into a student visa, and need one more document..but in the mean time I found the "elective residence visa" on the consolate's website. Does anyone know more about this? I could get all the requirements - appropriate lodging from my "family" there and a steady income from my company about $250/weekly because they encourage people to get out and see the world and I have everything else...It sounds too good to be true though - but it is there on the official website and the requirements. Can anyone help me soon!? I would like to find out more about this! Thanks so much!!
