Answer:
To obtain citizenship, she would have to have been resident in the UK for five years, the last year of which with Indefinite Leave to Remain. I think (not sure) that she could apply to the Home Office for a travel document in her own name in line with her Mum's. You say that her Mum has an asylum passport, but there are various statuses that may be granted to refugees; most commonly they get five years leave to remain (not indefinite). Near the end of the five years, they would have to apply for extension, which may be refused if it is deemed safe for them to return; in practice, it is hard to believe that many people are actually going to be returned after years in the country. If extension is granted, I think they could later apply for Indefinite, and then citizenship.

I am not exactly sure about how your friend would get a travel document in her own name. She should go to a Citizens Advice Bureau or perhaps back to her Mum's immigration solicitor, and take her Mum's travel document (red passport) which will detail what status exactly she has here.

There is a whole load of information about travel documents, including the application form, at

http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/applyin...

Hope this helps.
she should be able to
She's only with you to get citizenship...
oh well if she has an asylum passport she can have anything she wants...
Probably my job, house, car and mobile phone.
a) we're full up
b) we're still full up
c) move, and save your country from sinking
i think its about 5 years she has to stay in the country b4 she can apply 4 a uk citizenship, she must have proof that shes been here for 5 years i.e such as p60 or p45 a letter from the home office states thats she can remain in the uk. if u apply now they gonna reject it,theres a fee of £180 u have to pay though.
She's not been here long enough to apply for citizenship. Her mother's asylum status is not relevant.
