Does anyone know of any US citizens who have gotten Chinese citizenship?
How long would it take to get a Chinese Passport, and what are the requirements?
Answer:
just go there and set up shop.
Uptil now I heard that only a few person who help the China during the war with Japan got the Chinese nationality. A friend told me recently that China have authorised foreigner to become Chinese. But to do so you'll have the drop your actual nationality as China doesn't recognize people with 2 nationality.
But when I think about it, even if things get hot between the US and China or FRance and China, I will still stay French even if I live in China and am half Chinese. I have more rights and freedom being French.
You would have to be crazy to give up democratic freedoms to go live in a communist dictatorship. I don't know anyone who has lived in the US and moved to China unless their businesses relocated to China, and they went there to work, or if they were involved in Korean or Vietnam Wars and were either POW's & imprisoned there, or deserted from the US military & took sanctuary in China.
When Hong Kong was absorbed into China there were a million nonChinese citizens, people who had been born there of white, black, deccan and philipino ancestry. These people have been denied full Chinese citizenship. Only ethnic Chinese were granted full rights, such as they are.
That leads me to believe that they will not take volunteers, either.
Given that the Chinese are jailing minorities like Falun Gongers and then selling their body parts to outsiders for cash, I am not sure I would feel safer there under any circumstances.
