Inherited a gun over seas, want to bring legally to the USA?
Answer:
You can import a weapon as long as you get the proper permit. Talk to the USA customs department...
Ask a customs agent.
Check with an auction house, or a gun shop. Many guns are imported.
Find an FFL dealer near you (local gun shop). They'll be familiar with both the laws in your jurisdiction and the process of bringing a firearm into the country.
Not all firearms can be imported into the States. Firearms are classified by a points system by the BATF, it works something like X amount of points for the caliber, X for the size, weight etc....
Assuming its something like a shotgun or something, you shouldn't have a problem.
I missed the "CA" part earlier, um, GOOD LUCK!
AHH easy!
Just have it broken down in to the parts then pack a few parts in to diferent boxes and ship them at not the same date.
Oh and what ever you do, DO NOT SHIP AMMO!!!!!
Yes just do this and this is how we got a ton of the older artifacts guns exc from Mexico, France, Vetnam and Jamaca.
I have tryed this as well and no problem
They are only looking for FULL firearms or parts in a singel shipment. not just a few parts here and there
Guns legally acquired overseas can only be brought to the US if approved by the government.
depends on what kind of gun.
Modern or Old.
Talk to your local gun shop as it will have to be shipped to a licensed dealer.
Call the airline and ask how to do it. They have special locked boxes, but you need to have ALL of your approvals in order.
