I have a friend who married.?
Answer:
You don't have to have papers to get medicaid. That person is telling you wrong,if you are american and having a baby, you qualify for help.
Q:"Why can't our government support a child that will be an American citizen?"
A: Because we aren't communists. If the child is handicapped, he should get some help, but we have enough welfare entitlement grubbers here already, without needing to import any new burdens on society. Sorry to sound harsh, I know its your friend, but there are 5 billion other poor, helpless people throughout the world that we can't afford to support, either.
Next time you watch the news and see some nouveau-hippie group obstructing our efforts to confront foreign governments who create poverty, injustice and despair in their countries, remember who the bad guy is; not us!
UPDATE: A lot of church groups offer help, try a church in her community. Much of the offerings in the collection plate go to community service such as aid to the needy.
Why did she have to go to Social Services in the first place? She is entitled to Maternity leave and she should have health benefits thru her employer.
Sorry, but she knew what she was getting into when she married an illegal with no papers.
Recommend to your friends that they find another country that will provide government support for their unborn child.
Adios, and please ask them not to come back to suck off the U.S. Welfare teat.
First of all, Why didnt she or the father use some type of Birth control? Why didnt they think first before allowing another child into this world that is going to suffer from their parents lack of vision? Look into other means of getting medical attention for the mother other than state run entities.
If she is intending on staying married to him and to make him legal, she will have to petition for him, however he will have to go back to his country of citizenship in order to do that. She will file a l-130 which of course will be denied as he came into this country illegally. she will then have to file the l-601
Application for Waiver of Ground of Excludability, which is otherwise called a hardship waiver. The cost is 265.00 for that, but the cost will go up to 545.00 as of july 30, 2007. She will then also have to write a letter explaining what the hardship is...being pregnant or having a dependant child will help her case. once approved. he will be allowed in the US legally. If he is Mexican, it can take up to 18 months. Most other countries it will take less time. These are her options. For the sake of the child I hope this works out for her. good luck.
