Depends on the situation, so I don't have time to spell out a bazillion possibilities here, but usually you get charge with Article 15 of the UCMJ and they take some money from you ... sometimes rank, too, like bump you down to lowly Private, etc.
Bottom line is ... if you're in the military, they OWN YOU. Don't be disrespecting. If you can't stand a certain non-com, there are LOTS of ways to get revenge, subversive-guerilla stylee, instead of taking a stand and hanging yourself out to dry. In this case (whatever you did) you should apologize sincerely, take your lumps, and then plot your revenge.

UPDATE: An "essay"? Damn, the military sure has changed since '94, when I got out. I know, though, that there are more protections for soldiers as time goes on. Sticking with the chain of command, you need to let him know that you are going to go above his head, and that you want to talk to the First Sergeant, Sgt. Major, Captain ... use your chain of command or they will get pissy. I would take the position that "I am not a bad soldier, I just have a few things going on that are a bit overwhelming, especially with the anti-depressant mixup, and the prescribed drugs are affecting me in a negative way" etc, etc. "Give me a chance to get this thing under control and I won't fail you", etc.
Then get stuff straightened out at the base hospital, ie, tell your doctor that what you have (meds-wise) is not working for you, and they can try a different drug, and HOPEFULLY prescribe you a few days off work, or at least "no p.t." for a week or so until you 'get right'.
...and you might want to ask this question again in a different forum ... you have this in the "IMMIGRATION" section, so I think that's why it's not getting much attention. Make sure it gets into the "MILITARY" section and I'm sure you'll get more responses and advice. (explain it fully just like your update here did!)
