If you could select immigrants from a specific country or region, which would it be and why?

Any immigrant from any country that is willing to come here the legal way, learn our English, pay our taxes and not abuse the system .
As far as not..reverse the top. If they want to come here legally or illegally and commit crimes, not pay taxes, screw americans and use our welfare system... they can stay the HE LL out

My least favorite country to have immigrants from would have to be France because they are so rude and a lot of them smoke.

Seriously, though - its the individual, not the country that matters. Anyone who is willing to be honest, hard working, civic minded, law abiding, and peaceful is great with me.
I'd choose immigrants from the country where my ancestors came from. Would not choose immigrants from a country that with a little training and money could manage their own country or region.
I really do not care they come from. You cannot judge people by their nationality, that is as bad, or worse, as judging somebody because of their race. There are many different people in every nation, and we can't just throw them all in the same pile.
I don't care just as long as they speak and learn Engish and assimilate into our culture without expecting us to learn their language and their culture.
Personally..it would depend on what was needed at any particular time. There's only so far you can go with basic labor...just as there's just so far without it. We don't need more rich and we don't poor..we need more middle people. We need people of every ethnic, age, and social background to maintain a balance.
I would select immigrants from countries that have a strong work ethic.
I wouldn't select from countries with a poor work ethic. They just want to sponge off the system.
It matters not what country they are from - it matters about the individual.
To suggest that a particular country or region from which certain people come from makes them a 'better choice' - racist to say the least.
