Working without a visa when one becomes invalid and awaiting an i765 approval?
After you stop working for that company you await your I765 approval. But you decide you need a job. Can you use your social number that you have and just not say anything and get a job.? knowing that there will only be about a month lapse in between the L1A becoming invalid and your I765 coming. Consequences?? Is it possible to do?? etc etc.thanks for the info.

That would be illegal.
Your L1 status will be invalid as soon as you quit. Till the I765 arrives you will have to maintain status in another status since your L1 will disappear before that.
I already told you, no, you can't do it. It would be a violation of the law. You must file the I-130 and I-485 before she quits her job. She has to wait until the I-765 is approved before she gets another job.
Believe it or not, the CIS doesn't have a very good sense of humor when it comes to this stuff.
1. If you resign before actual filing of I130 etc., you would be out of status.
2. You can not work without getting I765 approved.
