Do you agree for a First World to exist, there has to be a Third World?

Why else would successive governments in our countries, the UK and the US back up all kinds of undemocratic, theocratic regimes in Africa, Latin America..only when these countries remain under unpopular governments, will the people there be unable to raise a voice against the injustice meted out to them by the tin-pot dictators - ensuring a steady supply of raw materials, market for finished goods and more alternatives to raise our profits thus, supporting the "status quo" - the high living standards in the First World.

It is obvious people living in the Third World will scale the walls that deny them economic opportunity and try to immigrate over here as long as this status quo remains. As already, we have an extremely tight immigration policy in most countries - we do choose what kind of people enter and remain within our borders. With the advacement of technology, our efforts in stemming illegal immigration is on the increase.

Answer:
Yes.
This doesn't mean it's right of course.
Historically we did much the same during the time of the Empires of the 19th and early 20th century. Note that after the Bolshevik revolution the Communist put the main effort of world revolution into the colonies as they saw that this was the Achilles heel of the western European countries. Since the fall of communism Big Business is reclaiming it's old territory. Of course we don't use words like Empire and colonies any more, Free trade and Global economy sounds so much nicer.
it is only this way so that the western world can categorise ppl to help keep them down.
I think the first world could assist the third world greatly by setting up a system similar to the EU (or adapting the EU) so that 3rd world countries could elect to join, as long as they were willing to coperate to meet certain critieria (eg democracy, sanitation ect ect). In return they would get assistance from federation they had joined to raise the country to that standard. They would be free to choose to join, and would retain their separateness as a nation.
No, it doesn't have to be so.

No one told those nations to embrace such political and economic systems. That was entirely their own choice.

It's not any big secret how we in the West have achieved such levels of freedom and prosperity. The most amazing document known to mankind, the US Constitution, provides a recipe for any nation wanting to do the same. It's there for all to see and copy if they please.
Actually, the terms originate from the Cold War. With that in mind, the terms aren't even relevant anymore... they've largely been replaced by the terms "industrialized" and "developing".

So in the literal sense of your question, no, because they don't actually exist. I have a feeling our connotations are different, however.
I think for it to be otherwise would require the human race, as a whole, to achieve a level of political and economic organization, of which it has not up to now demonstrated itself capable.
third world was created by the greed of some!!
well it seems that whenever we in the uk/usa (first world) help the 3rd world; liberals(nazi's) complain and shout about injustice. so in short we are fucked if we do and fucked if we dont.
