What happens if I have the ceremony anyways? Does it hold any legal binding at that point? I am just trying to go to the UK for a unique, memorable experience with no intention of staying but am running into a big hassle getting everything done.

I don't think so that there is any problem or it necessary to get any visa to marry, if your wife or husband is with you. and if you are willing to uk for marriage in this case you defiantly have to have visa to travel.

Are you marring a UK citizen or a Canadian? All you need to do is get a license first and wait the required time period before the actual marriage date.
