L1 visa, then EAD - what does that let me do before Green Card?

I'm a British guy who currently has a L1 visa with my employer (my family are on L2s).

I'm currently going through the green card process and was happy to see I have a biometric appointment this month. Things seem to be going forward quite quickly. My lawyers filed my AOS, Advanced Parole and EAD on 23 March - and I got the letter at the weekend for my biometrics.

The question is, how long, on average does it take to get my EAD after the biometrics, and secondly, can I resign and move employers once I have the EAD, or do I need to wait until the whole AOS process is complete?

Thanks

Answer:
It is hard to calculate how long would it take. It all depends on how many applications are in front of you. And what service center is processing your application. The good thing is that is in the process. Good luck.
