Should English be the official language of the United States?
Answer:
YES!!!!!!!!!...
I thought it already was.
yes
Get rid of illegals and this question wouldn't even come up.It seems everyone knows english is our language except the ignorant folks who snuck into our country.
Emphatically, yes.
Yes, but only because it has been raised.
I mean, get real. English has been the 'official' language of California since the '80s and do you notice any impact?
Absolutely, and it should be a requirement for citizenship.
Yes. There is a lot of business done in the United States, and the official language of the business world is English. Many states in the US have already voted that English is the official language of their state.
i dont know if you are being sarcastic or you are asking it seriously but English is the official langauge of USA
yes.
I believe it already is the "main" spoken language in our country. But those who speak other languages should also continue their cultural and historical way of keeping their traditions and languages to pass on. It would be helpful for everyone to learn and speak English, but to make it enforced at all times is unacceptable. So i believe it should be the official language, if it is not already, and respect those who do not speak it and chose to live in America.
No. We've never needed an official national language before. The market will continue to make it worth people's while to learn English in order to get ahead. That's why English is the most popular 2nd language in the world. (Everyone knows their own first language but more people choose to learn English as a second language than any other language in the world)
I vote for German. I think it would be cool if all Americans were forced to learn German.
No. We are way too diverse for that.
It already is the official language of the US and , yes, it should be. English is the official language of the world, children in many countries are required to learn it. Isn't it odd then that the people who come here from elsewhere don't think they should have to and that the rest of us should learn their language?
English has been the language spoken here since the original 13 colonies were founded. The only languages that have more historical significance are Native American and there are many of those. However, even many Native Americans no longer speak them.Englishis the language of government, science, medicine, and air traffic control. It should be preserved as our national language, and those immigrating here should be required to learn it. They cannot survive effectively without these skills. Italy and China have dialects, but of their own language. Canada is the only country I know of that has two official languages. We are within outr rights to have English as our official language. That said, Americans should not expect the entire world to speak English when we visit their countries. As visitors, we should learn theirs.
2006 we pass a law the official language in Arizona is English next question please
Without a doubt.
YES!!!!!! It is going to be our generation to change this! This is pathetic, I know we are a free country but , when I see the mexicans getting all of these benefits and they cannot even speak english, It pisses me offffffff!!!!!!
It is the national language but if they make it the official language they will not be able to have translators in hospitals or voting ballots in other languages and that kind of thing.
YES!! :0)
It ALREADY IS THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE! Don't believe me then tell me what Language the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights are in.
Si
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! ABSOLUTELY, DEFINITELY, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE ONLY ANSWER IS YES!!!
I thought they made it law like 3 years ago.WEll, anyway it's moot because the new bill says all those with a visa MUST learn or speak English.Yes that's one of the requirements of the bill.
No, el inglés es una mierda de lenguaje.
We have English spoken here and they can have the lower half of shampoo bottles in Spanish. No more than that. Not that they will read it anyway.
Americans speak English. Anyone wanting to be an American should respect this country enough to gratefully learn it's language. Believe me, if they need to know something, they will find their own translator. We shouldn't be footing yet another cost for THEIR choice to come here. It cost monumental amounts of money to print everything from ballots to vote, to instructions for putting something together, etc. Who absorbs those cost? Legal, tax paying Americans. Hard working Americans. Illegal immigrants are not the only ones who are "hard workers". After all, this country, was built by OUR hard working ancestors, and we work hard to continue to keep it. It is not our fault their own country's leaders have failed them. It is not our fault they have deserted their country.
Can you imagine any other country, Australia, France, England, Germany, China, Italy, even considering this question, for 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants who invaded their country? Or spending million of dollars to accommodate THEIR lack of preparation for their invasion? Australia doesn't play the immigration game. France kicked theirs out. People who have migrated here legally over the years, wanted to be Americans, and respected our county. They never asked us to learn their language. Why must we even be asked this question for illegal invaders? Who don't even want to be Americans, who have no respect for this country, or it's laws. Why must we change anything for people who have come here to suck every dime they can out of our country? Why Make America like Mexico? They should go home and "work hard" to make Mexico like America. And they can speak whatever language they da#n well please.
I speak Spanish and a little bit of Arabic. It's a matter of motivation, regardless of what language is instituted as official. Either way, other languages will be used and spoken, and business target the different language groups.
yes! It help cut down all the waste by having everything in other languages besides English like for elections, Social Security etc..
