The Immigration Bill, why now?
Second part of the question: How many of you have written to your senators and congress members to express your views regarding this topic?
Answer:
Actually, I think it's impact is known...especially when the American public has seen what past amnestys have done...The American public knows that any amnesty is a sham and that enforcement of immigration law wont happen. They have as of yet not enforced present laws, so why would anything new be enforced? As far as why they are trying to force it thru, profits for big business...I have written. emailed, faxed congressmen in regards to this, and every Patriotic American should do the same thing to fight this travesty that is on the floor now..
First question: Why now?
Because impeachment proceedings against Bush and Cheney were begun about a year ago. The immigration debate takes the focus off themselves and puts it to the southern border. It's a magic trick!
Second question: I and my husband have written to my goofy SenaMorons many times to no avail. I have Specter and Casey and they are both anti-American.
Because it is to the breaking point
I believe they are doing this now because Bush is the anti- Christ. The US is the land of opportunity and nothing can change that. We all came from other countries (except the Native American). The United States is a melting pot and we would not be this way if it wasn't for people being able to come into this country. We would be nothing.
I have wrote my congressmen, but like it matters. Hell Farmers Branch ( Texas) was trying to implement its own immigration laws in the city limits. Outrageous! A state has no right nor does a city.
this bill is being passed for god knows why bush wants it, mexicans run his rancho for him, he doesn,t know how to do anything except cut brush. probley got some kind of kick mback from mexico for taking all the criminal element and the poor.
Big business is worried that the backlash toward illegals will stop their pool of cheap labor. They are pushing this bill but Americans are not buying it. I work with many people that came from other countries (legally!) and they are just as angry about this bill as we are.
And yes, I wrote my congressman and both of my senators. I plan to write them again since this is coming up for a vote today.
The government should have had to "prove" the past obligations that went unfulfilled for so long before they should even be allowed to talk about anything new.
If they can't make the laws work, they don't need to be in the position they hold.
