Australian Immigration: Processing times after everything has been submitted?
We have just completed the medical and supplied the final police certificate requested. But how long after this does it take for the final decision?
What experience do people have of this process?

Answer:
I have recently been granted an Australian skilled independant visa.
They received my application in mid July 2006. I was actually living in new Zealand when I applied.
I was instructed to have my health check (medical) mid Jan 2007. I was living Australia by that time under a temporary business visa.
Month or so after the medical, middle of February 2007, I received a pre-grant letter which basically instructed me to leave Australia so I could have the visa evidenced in my passport and should re-enter Australia no later than mid June.
I have just had the visa evidenced in my passport by sending it to the Australian consulate in London, took less than a week, and will be heading back to Oz tomorrow. Bonza mate!
Bare in mind that I was the only applicant and the medical was carried out in Australia when interprating my experience for your own case.
