Fiance Visa (K1)?
We are aware that it's gonna take months and we don't wanna wait that long.
Anybody from Canada who's in the same situation?
Thanks.
Answer:
You can apply for the K-1 fiance visa. The requirement is that you have met in person at least once. They may want proof or documentation of this fact. When I petitioned for a K-1 visa for my then fiance (now husband) I included photos of us together from his visit, copies of his flight information and receipts from purchases he made while here. I think in many situations (and especially when dealing with immigration) it is far better to give too much documentation than too little so they can be sure it isn't a sham.
In order for your fiance to file the I-129F petition he needs to be able to submit evidence of you having met each other in the last 2 years. If you are able to do that and you both fulfil the other requirements as well, such as being legally able to marry, he is a USC, then you are set to go. You can read a great guide on filing the I-129F here http://www.familybasedimmigration.com/fo...
The guide also contains the relevant USCIS links and lots of other info.
Good luck with your visa process.
i think that as long as you have physically seen your boyfriend within the last 24 months, you may apply for the visa. this can even be waived if it is for religious reasons.such as arranged marriages.
Your fiancé needs to file form I-129F. this form is used to petition to bring your fiancé(e) and that person's children to the United States for marriage to you or to bring your spouse and that person's children (K-3 and K-4 visas, respectively) to the United States.
Your fiancé can pick up the form at your nearest CIS office, at any port of entry, or he can download it from the USCIS office website, www.uscis.gov, go to forms on top and look for the form.
Good luck.
Are you planning on marrying soon? If so come here, get married and then file, but dont leave the USA until the paperwork has been filed. He can file if your here on behalf of his spouse, which is you. If you dont plan on getting married soon then I havent got a clue. My husband and I got married, he went home then came back. We didnt plan on it but he stayed because we didnt want to be apart anymore. We were advised that he should remain here and file the paperwork here. We were given the right advice because it took less than a year for him to get his work permit and his permanent resident card. Goodluck!
