Dual nationality?
Answer:
If your daughter was born before your wife giving up her Phil. citizenship, then by Philippine law your daughter has a Philippines citizenship by birth.
I am only guessing but it probably depends on whether your wife renounced her citizenship before your daughter was born. If she did your daughter probably wouldn't be entitled, if she renounced it after the birth your daughter may well be entitled. But I am not a legal expert, so please don't take my answer as exact - I'm only going on what I've learnt myself on citizenship matters. Your best bet is to check the Phillipine Government website if there is one or check with their embassy. Good luck!
hiya, i am from philippines too, and i am checking the philippines embassy's website in london http://www.philemb.org.uk/ at the moment. i have a 7 months old son as well and i'm going to apply a philippines passport for him as well. as i have heard from my other friends that you have to register them first at the phil. embassy in london so that you can apply a philippines passport for your kids. just try to check their website and hopefuly you can get more info. goodluck!
PS; my son is half brit-fil as well...
Depends whether Philippines allow dual nationality with UK
You need to check if the Philippines allow people to get dual citizenship. I'm Japanese and I have a green card. But if I become an American citizen, I'm going to loose a citizenship in Japan because Japanese government doesn't allow people to have two different nationalities. So just check Philippine government whether they allow people to have dual nationality or not. I'm sure you can contact Philippine Embassy and ask about that.
