I got my US Visa, but there is no stamp either ECR/ECNR on my Passport. Pls confirm if ECNR Stamping is reqd??
Answer:
Not required the ECNR stamp.
As per the new passport regulation of India all are automatically entitled for the ECNR status. I f the holder is not entitled for this, then the authorities will put ECR stamp on their passport.
Hope the above information will help.

Well just check on your passport if theres a checkmark where ECR/ECNR is listed. Sometimes one of it is just crossed out and checked with a signature (like in my case). If ECR is crossed then you qualify for ECNR. Though for US, theres no ECR at the airport. All the US passengers are waived from that. It is at the US port of entry only where you will go through security checks.
Travel agents can guide you.I got help from them.
I am inclined to agree with Zain in this matter.
I was also surprised to see the absence of ECR/ECNR stampings on the newly issued Indian Passports.
I understand that the new Passports do not have the ECR/ECNR markings at all. Therefore you are presumed to be in the list of Emigration Clearance Not Required.
Please read the passport.ECNR is not required for many european and other countries.I am in US and no ECNR stamp. For graduates you can get it if you go to middle east and other countries.
