You are completely right - deportation only works if the borders are sealed so those deported cannot just turn around and return. As well, the government needs to monitor visitors who come in on visas, to ensure they leave when they are supposed to. And, of course, the goverment is not sincere unless they come up with a foolproof method of cracking down on employers of illegals. I have heard that employers have now resorted to using "third party" hiring companies in order to avoid the risk of being held responsible for hiring illegals - hence, this market is expanding big-time - companies who claim to have checked out the documents of employees, so the employer doesn't have to worry about being held responsible if it is found out that their employees are illegal immigrants. Come on - this is getting to be so ridiculous, it isn't even funny! If the government were really serious, these loopholes would NOT exist and these people would not get away with this idiocy. It is the government who has to be held responsible for illegal immigration getting so out of control and these people who are our representatives and are paid their salaries out of our tax dollars who need to be told that they won't have a job if they do not start listening to the people who employ them - the citizens. Not big business - the citizens!

This is the only sensible question I have found tonight. The bad news is that our government no longer represents us. Since less than 50 percent of the population bothers voting and those that do don't care to hold officals to campagin promises, elected officials could care less about what we want or more important, what is right or moral. Remember that: "Money is power, Power is corrupt, Corrupt is absolute". Our borders need to be completly closed and any and all illegals need to be deported.

Bush not only does not agree with you, he has signed a treaty in 2005 with Mexico to open the border allowing free access to this country for illegals.
