A proud American who love this country.?
When I turn 18 years of age, I became the first of my family to become an America Citizen. I did not appreicate this great country until I went back to Peru and saw poverty and an a corrupted government that keep them poor. I understand why so many are willing to risk their lives to come to this great country so they can give their family a better future.
What I don't understand is why are those who are illegal have a flippen attitude toward the very country that give them hope. And why do they show such loyality to a country that turn their backs on them.
And most of all, why are they not teaching their children how bless they are to live in this great country and how important it is to show their love for the US by saluted the flag, learning the language & cuture, and most of all, becoming a proud America
Answer:
The fact is the illegal aliens, a majority of which are Mexican, give a bad name to all of the Mexicans who immigrated here legally as well as other Hispanic people who also immigrated here within the law.
Illegal aliens have not paid income taxes for decades, have used our vast welfare benefits without paying and as thanks they protest in our streets demanding that we do as they, uninvited criminals, tell us to do. They also waive their Mexican flag and spit on the American flag.
Proud Americans of all races will call their two senators and demand that criminal illegal aliens will get jailed and deported rather then granted amnesty and that our border is secured once and for all.
I cannot answer the question.
However I would like to point out to them that it is ill advised to bite the hand that feeds you.
Simple really your family has the American dream and are the immigrants evetone wants. Your family came her and worked, made a better life for themselves and are adapting to the culture. The illegals just want handouts and don't give a damn about America.
I don't understand either, but glad there are people like you in this country who remind those who take advantage of the great wealth and freedoms we enjoy here,.
Why be proud of being a citizen of a country that has pissed off the entire world? My President is an IDIOT. I hate Bush.
Very well said! If we only had more such as yourself and your parents, we would not be having these problems with Illegals now.
You are a Proud American, and are a welcomed addition to our Country. Thank You!
Very well put, and I am glad that some immigrants really do appreciate this country.
It's definitely not wise to bite the hand that feeds you, because the hand can, and will, strike back.
Thats a good question. It shows their utter contempt for the US, but yet they come here to better themselves and escape from a corrupt society and government. Maybe if we do start deporting them and secure our borders, they will learn to appreciate what the US has to offer and learn some respect.
You must be a child. Why would you not know that this country is filled with poverty and corruption? When you grow up try reading some about the contributions by corporations to the Republican party.
Some call this "the voice" of the people. I call it what it is, criminal bribes.
Corporations want more illegals not less, they want to flood the market with cheap labor and drive down the standard of living for all Americans, this is fact.. Now have some more cool aid..
They now understand when they protested with the mexican flag and told us what THEY wanted us to do, what the outcome was. Now majority of Americans want them out, and to put a stop of them coming here dropping kids out and making us pay for them.
They should be careful what they ask for since they are Illegal.
I'm an American, and a Proud 5th generation California Democrat!
.
finally someone with some sense you are a smart cookie and see people like you i believe will make america a better place.i agree with you a 100%.the problem i have is some come here and there is no efford made and like you said you come here for a better life well then do it dont come here and segregate yourself from use it makes us angry and thats the problem we have with immigrants. contribute positvely.i wish great things for you. you have a good head on your shoulders and now go be somebody.
I sometimes question if all of the, for example, Mexicans who rally and go on marches. are actually illegals. I have a feeling that many of them are citizens who are marching on behalf of their fellow Mexicans. I frequently drive past a Home Depot where illegals congregate looking for day labor. On the day of some of these marches, where they were supposed to not work and spend the day protesting, there were still guys standing out in the parking lot.
Yes, this country is great! We have freedoms some can only dream of. We want 'foreigners' to come over her LEGALLY. We support you that work hard to achieve the American dream. We Americans wish we could.
Maggym, thank you for a refreshing essay. You are blessed and can appreciate what your father struggled for. Are their other people out there who can come forward with something nice to say?
Many of us would like to hear from you.
There is much more to this issue than jobs, and people wanting to become Americans. Whether some want to accept it or not there are those who have no interest at all in ever becoming citizens of the US,they are here for the paycheck, period! And perhaps if we actually need the labor that would be acceptable. But the attitude that comes with it is really just not something I for one am prepared to accept. Because the immigrant of today seems to have a sense of entitlement that I find repulsive, and add to that those who think they have no reason to follow our laws because they feel this is Their country whether we like it or not,and I say seal the border.
And if someone wants to give me the speech about people coming here for better lives, and insinuate that I don't understand, the fact is I'm the second generation of my family born in this country,I know exactly what my life would have been like had my family not made the choice to come to America, and I am thankful to be here. And that is the minimum that we have a right to expect from those who come here now Generation after generation of Immigrants have built this into the greatest country on Earth and living here is a privelage, not a right. And anyone who comes here and disrespects everything that has been built should be shown the door, and asked never to darken our doorstep again.

Since 9-11 its not as easy to become a proud american. It kind of makes immigrants bitter because they make it so hard on people that just want to have a better life.
I agree with you. There are people in the world living in horrible conditions. If you are fortunate enough to live in a place where you have a better life, you should at least try to learn the language and culture of the country. I realize it may be hard, but if they at least give it a good effort and maybe learn something along the way, it is better than nothing.
