Like they can take credit for what the ancient civilizations built.
It amazes me those places haven't been targets for graffiti.
Nothing they are building there today will be a wonder in another thousand years or so.
However, the glass-bottomed walkway built recently over the Grand Canyon may inspire our descendents.
Yet another reason for them to stay in their country! Mexico is beautiful, they need to fix it and stay.
They have to have something to be proud of even if if has nothing to do with their current government. Other than that, the place sucks.

All the bunch of people who respond to your question are ignorants also. Mexico is one of the countries in the world that have a very rich history that isn't based 230 years ago. I would like that you can go and visit my country, to see El Tajin in Veracruz, Palenque in Chiapas, Uxmal in Yucatan as well Chichen Itza and Tulum in Quintana Roo state. Or to visit Tabasco the crib of the Olmec civilization who was the mother culture who gave birth to the Mayans and Toltec's and Aztecs. It is a pity that you the Americans are so ignorant about Mexico, and the rest of the countries. You just go to Cancun, Acapulco or Tijuana to get drunk and behave like barbarians. The Europeans instead, go to museums, visit all the places above mentioned and more. What a shame!!
It was named in Mexico because it is a wonder. Just because we don't support illegal immigration doesn't mean we can't appreciate something beautiful and amazing.

They believe that the history of the American started with the mayflower, but there was a rich history here centuries before the mayflower. There was a rich history in Native American people culture that did not claim to own the land but lived in harmony with Mother Earth. Mexico's history is rich in culture, where Civilizations were in place way before the Spanish set foot in America. The Aztec calender also has a greater history than the Statue of Liberty, there are so many wonders of the world in Mexico , Central and South America. Those people are just showing their jealousy that our culture has been recognized by the world ahead of theirs.
