If the bill doesn't pass then it's going to just stay the way it is now. Illegals all over the place, not able to get licenses, or car insurance because they are illegal, not able to get health insurance because they are illegal(so of course emergency rooms are still going to be too full), and illegals that commit other crimes like murders, rape, burglary are going to get away with it because we have no way to track them. So it seems to me it would make sense to pass the bill. At least it would be doing something!! It really irritates me that people aren't realistic. We are never going to get rid of 12 million illegal immigrants. Period. Even if we enforce laws that we haven't enforced in years. There are just too many illegals here for that to happen. So we need compromise!

Yes, I do think it is better to do nothing. I read the bill. Did you? It was a disaster, and they were intentionally misleading about what was in it. No way to stimulate trust, that.
Yes. Let's enforce the law. We made an impact on our Legislators to kill this bill dead as a doornail. Now let's HAMMER them to push enforcement of current laws on the books.
We must not let up on our representatives. Now that they realize they can't ignore us let's flood them with demands for enforcement of our current immigration laws. It can be done!

Only the ones in power know that. The laws have been there to protect our country, but there are all sorts of excuses why these immigration laws have not been enforced for a long time. Let's just sit and watch what will happen next.

The REASON why the immigration laws are not being ENFORCED is because we have elected officials not WANTING them enforced. When Bush lets the MEXICAN government stick their nose into our country and prosecutes Border Control Agents who are trying to protect the USA it is sickening! And they WERE set up because the jurors are saying that they were threatened...they were 3 who didn't believe the drug smuggler and guess what? They were FORCED to vote against what they believed!
Did you know that the Border Agents have voted a no confidence vote for the person who is over them? It was unanimous too!
They need more money to enforce the current laws and that comes down the the lack of willingness on our elected officials to do so!
All the government has to do is set a date. Give a fair warning on circumstances if laws are not followed on hiring, renting to, and giving credit to illegals. Give the illegals a warning if they are not gone by whenever they risk jail time, and get deported anyway.
If the government said the current laws are now going to be strictly enforced starting on, say June 20. That you risk huge fines and maybe even your whole business by hiring illegals. Then hire citizens who are out of jobs to keep up with all the businesses, renters, and lenders to make sure they are following the laws.
Perhaps a few illegals would still get through the system, but nothing like it is now. And they would get caught eventually or live their lives hiding from the government.
No illegals hired, rented to, or given credit for anything, or medical benefits, no illegal kids in schools...three months later-at the most, they will all be gone on their own. No need to deport, they can't do anything here, they would love to go home.
All they have to do is set the date and make it happen.
A bad bill is not better than no bill at all.
