I was told a visitors visa can't be changed, you have to apply for a differnt visa type.
I was on a 6 month visitors visa from USA. Here is what I was told so I am looking for clarification from Answers.

Officially Americans can only come into the UK on a 6 month visitors visa once in any 12 month period but on re entering the UK a second time within 12 months, they may be allowed in, it depends on the Immigration officer, they may just allow you in and they may point it out to you or they may refuse you entry. So whats best to do, the Visa runs out in 3 weeks, shall I try a retrurn trip to europe or America and see what happens before it runs out.
