nope it can not be detected.. u shud be fine..l only if it is metal it can be detected or anythin like that.. also dependin wer u have it stored, like ur bag or somethin.. it may show up on the luggage screening..
when folks ask questions about "how to get away with_____", i get kind of nervous.
if you know you're NOT suppose to be doing something, then you have got a lot of nerve coming on here, acting like it's no big deal to poll americans on how to do it.

why not say "gee, can my bomb be detected in an airport?"
or i liked the one on here that went: "if i find an american to marry, can i get away with____?"

If you are planning to smuggle blood diamonds, diamonds are pretty much worthless unless its cut. Most cutters refuse to take these diamonds, because they do not want to offend their supplier. The certification of Diamonds was initially done, so De beers can mantain a monopoly on the Diamond trade, and no cutter wants to get De Beers mad, but their are other suppliers, now. Because its a close society, I still think you will have a hard time finding someone to cut it, and you still neede to forge certificates and laser enscribe the diamond.
Are you thinking of smuggling diamonds? If it is yours and you not carring 20 carats, I doubt that it'd be a problem. But I have to wonder why it is such a worry for you? You sort of sound gulity or paranoid. Sorry if I'm wrong.
diamonds being a carbon mass do not show up on an x-ray or set off a metal detector however if you get caught with it youre going down for smuggling
