American seeking dual citizenship with Canada?
It is hard to get a Canadian citizenship because I am so young??
What is the process to get it??
How long does it take??
Answer:
It isn't too hard to do..but it does take time...I am ready now to get mine.
first you must become a landed immigrant.
next you must be in Canada approx. 3 years (actually so many days)
next apply for citizenship, take the required test, and when called go do your oral interview and then go to where they have the group oath taken.
Do not use one of the immigration counclirs to do your immigration it is a waste of good money. Instead go to Yahoo groups and find Canadian_immigration. They can lead you through the whole process and it won't cost you anything, except the required medical and other fees for fileing.
good luck...the whole process will take about 4 to 5 years.
if you have some skills we need there is a possibility...
search canadian immigration requirements , you will find the info you need..
why the hell would I get a thumbs down for this answer...wow...
Many years but I heard they are encouraging people to get citizenship to Canada. Your best bet is to talk to someone who has dual citizenship with Canada and USA.
I would suspect the process is pretty long.
I am a Canadian born and raised and I do not think you can get dual Citizenship for the USA and Canada.
My cousin lives inthe USA and is married to an American. She never gave up her Canadian status and had to get a green card to work in the USA. Her children are American as they were born in the USA.
She comes to Canada regularly and is Canadian.
