Canadians can use the TN visa under NAFTA. But that doesn't allow you to become a PR in the US. If you want to become a PR in US you have to go H1B/L1 route. TN/H1/L1 require an employer to file a petition for you. TN and L1 doesnt have any Quotas while H1 does have quotas.
if you go to new york you're OK, they take everybody, as long as you're not white, blond and blue............
