How they track person under H1-OPT gap is working?

Suppose my F1-OPT status is just expired, and the H1 visa is delayed and will be given in another week. How they ( the immigration ) is able to track me if I am still working to the same company? Will that create a problem with only a week difference in gap?

Answer:
they don't have time to go after expired visas unless someone reports you. even so, they won't get to you for months if at all. by then you should have your proper documents anyway. good luck.
