Not for illegal immigration but I do understand it...the US government has done nothing to discourage it so it continues... If I was in their place I would be doing the same.
The Economy of the US sure needs these folks though for many reasons... right now the population pyramid has too many baby boomers at the top... either retired or getting close and not enough workers to support the social programs they will need... by increasing immigration quotas we can fill in that gap... also many many many current Americans will not do the jobs the current illegals do, so we need immigrants to do them.
Illegal immigration is breaking the law but so is speeding... and almost all Americans do it because not enough is done to prevent it.
for or against it's illegal get the hell out of my country.
I don't believe that borders can keep people from migration. People for thousands of years have travelled to where the reasources are, and you can't blame people from less developed countries from coming to ours.

I am very much against illegal immigration. First and for most, its something called respect, respect for country, and respect for that countrys laws. At a very early age, a person is or should be taught to respect all laws, you do not always have to like all laws, but still the laws must be respected. Keep this in mind, for all of those open borders people, a world with all open borders will not work, never has, and never will.
If you come here with the intention of becoming an American citizen, and go through the system, no problem, and I welcome you. If you come here illegally, you should not be surprised when the immigration officers haul you to the border and tell you "don't come back again". Immigration is what made this country great, gave us cultural diversity, and produced many wonderful innovations; but do it legally.
They should have immigrated here legally, but since they did it "illegally" they are nothing more than law breaking criminals. They need to go back where they come from, and try to re-enter legally. Oh, but they don't want to wait like all the people trying to get legal status in this country. Damn criminals!
We need to control the flow of people across our borders.
We need to Identify and track all immigrants.
We need to stop giving free health care. We need to stop giving free educations.
we need to stop giving automatic citizenship just because you are born on U. S. Soil
The Countries that these people come from need to develop their economies so they can support their citizens.
We need to stop printing our official documents in any thing but English.

I am 100 percent against illegal immigration..
We have enough problems taking care of our own citizens who need assistance and who need to find work..
If their country is so bad, why do they come here and disrespect our country..and it is blatently visible everywhere..
They come here and send all their untaxed illegal wages back to Mexico..when they have taken enough from us..they go back and celebrate..
We need to keep our money in the Unites states..we pay taxes that end up supporting them, if they want to be here, they need to do it legally and pay into the taxes they love to collect..

Think about it, all of our higher paying factory /industrial jobs have been leaving or country and going to Mexico..why would they want to come here and pick lettuce when they could be working with benefits for General Motors????

Against it. They are ruining our schools and services, removing the jobs that used to put our youth through college, and are depressing wages. There are reasons there are limits on immigration.
I definitely sympathize with people wanting to come to the US for a better life, but you need to go through the proper channels and come through the front door, for security reasons. Hard to distinguish between a mexican coming to pick apples and a talibani coming to blow up a subway when it's dark and they're running. I do approve of a guest worker program; I live in an agricultural state where our orchards & vineyards have a hard time making it without foreign labor. I think we make it too hard for people coming for legitimate work to enter the country legally, that's why they jump the fence. With an established guest worker program, we could do proper background checks, make sure they have viable employment lined up, and hold foreign workers responsible for taxes. People coming for legitimate reasons don't have to worry about running from immigration and we get the labor force we need, everyone wins.
The flip side is that if we let everyone from Mexico move here to work, they won't bother working towards fixing what is wrong with their own country, so I think we do need to put limits on immigration, otherwise the situation in Mexico will just get worse.
They are going to bankrupt social security when they get older. Illegal aliens don't contribute enough to social security to cover what they will take out from social security.

Interesting question and I have 2 [two] parts for your answer.
1) You used the term "illegal". Illegal is against and in violation of our laws. When we do something illegal, we will end up in jail, pay a very stiff fine and/or go on probation. We violated the governing laws set and for the people of this nation.
2) My parents came from another country into the United States. They went to New York [Paris Island] and became American citizens as well as learning our culture and language.
Millions of others had to do it...so why stop now?

Hey, most would tell you it's not a good thing. It's kinda like taking drugs. When you first do it, it gets you high and you like the feel of it. Cheeper food costs. Someone to make your bed cheep. Take care of Jr. cheep.
But in the end what you get for cheep costs you increased criminal population, destruction of societal infrastructure and an influx of non Englsih speaking people who's orientation is that of a country who is failing.
Whatever. No good polotician or mindful citizen would with any intelligence step aside and allow ilegal immigration. lt should be handlew with more care as I and many others believe it could lead to the collapse of the USA in less than 20 years.
It's not that I'm encouraging them to cross the border illegally, but the majority of people who cross the border illegally don't have money to fix their papers legally. And life in Mexico or in other countries is really hard.

1. A porous border would make the country more vulnerable to terrorist attacks.
2. From what I heard and I believe is true, illegals cost the country more in taxes with schools, hospitals, and social programs in which the Mexican government should be paying, not the US taxpayer.
Going off topic a little bit, here are some solutions:
1. Call your representative up to get them to fight against this problem.
2. Join the Minuteman Project, if you're an early retiree.
3. BOYCOTT companies that hire illegal aliens or buy LESS from them.
4. Apply the Rumsfeld Doctrine which is to minimize as many people to do the job and to maximize the use of technology. This was used in Iraq and Afghanistan. It may not be successful, in people's minds, but we definately need MORE FINESSE THAN MUSCLE.
A. Border Patrol. I understand the patrol need more guards but can't get it now. For now, as Donald Rumsfeld might say, "You nab illegal immigrants with the guards and equipment you have. They're not the guards and equipment you might want or wish to have at a later time." Since it might take a long time to receive government help, the border patrol, like public schools, should be getting rid of things they don't need. They ought to study how illegals get in the country in order to reform its tactics. I believe that illegals would cross the border at night so more guards are needed to patrol it. They should consider in investing in as much technology as possible so we might not need as many border patrol agents.
B. Businesses that hire illegals should hire American citizens with higher pay. In "Rumsfeld's Rules" as Rumsfeld said, "Don't automatically fill vacant jobs. Leave some positions unfilled for six to eight months to see what happens. You will find you won't need to fill some of them." They should be hiring American citizens but they don't have to hire as many of them as they would be hiring illegals. This should downsize their costs. Also, they should invest in machinery because it might be doing the jobs of many people who might join a labor union to demand for higher pay.
I believe the fourth alternative will be the most efficient way of combating illegal immigration but they should all be implemented.
