Adjustment of Status - Petition for Spouse ??
and I will talk to more but I wanted to know if anyone had any
ideas or knew the laws or who I can talk to..
My fiance is 21, we are getting married next weekend. After we get
back from the honeymoon I plan to go to several lawyers and see if
he can get adjustment of status from being married to me. (I am a U.S.
citizen). He was 3 years old when he was brought here, and his record
is clean. I know the Dream Act would work but it's not a law yet.
Anyone know anything we can do? We were told petition for spouses
do not work anymore for Mexican immigrants because of quotas! But for any
other country they do!
Answer:
It depends. If your husband came illegally- crossing the border than unfortunately there is no law that he can use. Unless he wants to leave the country but then he would have to wait a period of 5-10 years ( if punished) to come back to the US.
Now, if he came here legally (visa) then yes you can get married and file a petition that would change his current status.
This is why we need a new immigration reform so that people with an honest background can benefit from it.
Have you looked at this web site?

First - what IS his status, exactly? You don't mention what it really is anywhere in your request.
Without that information, there's no way anyone can even guess at how to help you.
