Have him come over on a visiting visa or a I-94. Then he will have to stay here without leaving. File the necessary paperwork. It took less than a year for me and my husband to file all the paperwork and he is now here on as a permanent resident. If you really love eachother and are not married for any other reason then this is the way to go.
