I am USC as well and have traveled to UK, Belgium, France, Holland without visa.
I would say yes as you need a visa to go to mexico or canada now.

Andreas, you now need to have a passport to go to Mexico and Canada. Thank 'Home Land security',for that. But you have always needed a passport to go to Sweden.

oh people people.i am american and live in denmark.

you only need your passport to travel to sweden for vacation...more then 3 months or working and residing there you need to apply for that visa. same goes for most of EU countries with a few exceptions.
No,not with a US passport anyways.My son went there a few years back. Have fun..but be careful, Sweden used to be a very safe place but now it has crime like anywhere else. My son was 22 years old and never drank,in Sweden he met some nice local kids and had a few drinks.When he left them and was walking back to his room he was robbed by three non Sweds.Just don't let your guard down...p.s. they only got about $55. from him,he wasn't carrying alot of cash he knew what they wanted just by the looks they gave him,so he just handed it over to them without saying a word.
