What do you think about a law that would require all illegal, male immigrants to serve in our military?
We have plenty of Spanish-speaking units as evidenced by the Puerto Rican presence in the current and past wars and I'm sure that there are soldiers that speak the languages of other illegal immigrants also.
Would this solution satisfy those of you who would like to deport all illegal immigrants?

Your question proves, that great minds think alike. As I men-
tioned this very same thing not too long ago myself. I think
that if they are here, or even wanting to come here, they should be given the option to serve right away in our military in order to prove their intent to gain permanent citizenship. I believe they should serve the same amount of time in, as any
American service member would. In agreeing to military
service, this would prove their intent to become a
respected member of any community as a legal resident.
The problem tho, is so many have been interviewed on the
news to say, they want to work, and save their money and
go back 'home' to their families. The majority, don't want to
be legal citizens, unfortunately. Those are the ones who
should be deported, in my opinion. If they only want to reap
what they can while they're here, and don't want to become
an American (s), let them go home, and save our tax dollars.
Worked fine when my great grand parents came here just before WWI.
My great grand dad served in the Army, was wounded and granted his citizenship. The only issue is they wanted to be citizen's and came here legally. I don't think an illegal immigrant really wants to be an American.
I do not agree with this. It is a nonsense war so that the elite can get rich and further exploit other countries, that I would not want murderers on death row to fight in.
However, for those that do, they should be granted that option like faster citizenship.

No need to stop at males, females should be allowed too. We have women serving our military so why bar female illegals. It would be a good way to allow those that wish to become americans to start showing they are worth it. I would still have a deportation of some people (criminals - the ones doing more than just being here illegally.) If they do not serve honorably they do not get citizenship. I volunteered for the army. I didnt have to go. I did it for my country. Luckily I didnt serve at a time of war. No one is saying that they would go to war. Lots of jobs behing the lines. and It may end some day and this still would be a good way for an illegal to become a citizen by serving the country in war or peace.
That would just be wrong. Just send them back to where they came from. Slavery was abolished years ago.

I'd say you didn't read the bill. The bill says to draft men and women up to age 40. It doesn't matter if they're here illegally they are already included if the draft comes back.
It sounds like a great idea but I think it would fail because the Army isn't multicultural. Blacks run everything and they would just treat them like crap. I know because I was in the military and experienced a lot of racism from both whites and especially blacks. Some are subtle and some are just blunt. It would cause more problems for the existing military.good idea, nevertheless.
At first it sounds good but if you think about it,do you want people who lied and cheated to defend your country?I would feel better knowing they were honorable people first.
