Can illegal immigrants gain legal status without an amnesty?
Answer:
yea but it all depends on the case. its different for everyone. Some can get married, others get sponsored by siblings, but theirs a whole lot more to it. . .
I sure as hell hope not!
ditto
If they are given legal status that IS amnesty.
only if they sneek back home without getting caught and reenter legally.
Sure. They just ask their employer to fake some documents for them and then they're in like flint! Full benefits without paying taxes. What a deal!
No, I don't believe so and I don't think they should be able to. They should have to leave the country and return to their own home country and apply to enter the way they should have applied in the first place and they should have to go to the back of the line and wait their turn. Do you usually like people jumping ahead of you in any lines that you have been patiently waiting your turn in? I don't.
Yes, they can go home and apply for legal status.
yes they can. It happening already without amnest. all they have to do is be in the USA for a while than they hire an attorney to file papers for them and then become resident. after awhile they can become USA citizen. They don't have to know the language nor need to pass a test.
Anybody wanting a valid visa to America has to file the application paperwork, along with a money order with the Dept. of Homeland Security (formerly the INS) and once the process begins, finish the application with the American Embassy or consulate located in their home country. To finalize the paperwork includes fingerprinting, a background check, proof of income and a medical checkup . That's what is requested of anybody but Latin Americans which seek political favor to avoid these requirements. I know too many Europeans that have applied and been denied. Former Soviet Bloc nationalities can't even enter a US consulate office for any kind of visa. The US government will have to show why they grant special privileges to certain ethnics and not others.
