Why would Mexico's foreign secretary blames America for illegal immigration?

First of all, Mexico never addresses the reason tens of millions of its citizens risk "abuse" and their very lives to come here rather than stay in Mexico. The answer, of course, is that Mexico is one the biggest hellholes on earth -- an utter failure in every conceivable sense, and a hotbed of corruption.
Secondly, the notion that their citizens are somehow "abused" up here is a shameless lie. They get free (and superior) health care and education, and are paid more for their work in one week than they get in a full year in Mexico. Some abuse.
Both the U.S. and Mexican govts are creating more resentment than they bargained for. The situation is going to get uglier than they ever imagined.
I still have compassion for poor people and families but I keep hearing what they DEMAND from us; they DEMAND to be able to come here and they DEMAND that we don't build a wall and they DEMAND the right to vote and have drivers licenses and they DEMAND sanctuary and they DEMAND everything in Spanish and they DEMAND that the 10-cent Mexican consular ID be the same as citizenship.

God forbid they took responsibility, and accepted that blame as well as this being their fault. America, and Americans are not responsible for Mexico mismanaging their own corrupt cesspool of a country. That lays at the feet of the Mexican government. Besides... the Mexican president claims that they are keeping America safe from illegals entering the U.S. Really!!... I'd like to see where.

Because America encourages it. You want to stop immigration? Fine. Make it illegal for companies to hire them. Put them in jail if they knowingly hire an illegal alien. that would solve your problem. The government doesn't do this, but rather keeps flirting with other ineffective methods that are never actually put into effect. Stop encouraging it with contradictory laws and the problem will disappear.
I think we should fine the hell out of Mexico for everyone of it's citizens that comes across the border. Just a thought.

i think that the mexican government is a complete and total joke. they would rather blame this HUGE issue on someone else, rather than accept the fact that in reality THEY are the problem. My husband is from a small town in Sonora, Mexico and hes told me stories of political leaders who promise their people major changes and revitilization. It never happens! They sit around twidling their thumbs and spending their money on fanct things. Its just like the war on drugs, if Mexico did something about the drug trade it would loose millions of dollars. they would also loose money if illegals stopped coming over here, alot of the money they make here goes right into to mexicos economy because they send it back home. its a tremendous problem with no end in sight!
You have given a lot of facts and I would like to include that the drug trade between the US and Mexico/Colombia creates unlivable conditions in Mexico and is the main reason a lot of drug lords and drug gangs want to locate here. The Mexican government is so corrupt that they are taking too much profit from the drug lords. If these criminals relocate to the US, they can cut out their Mexican middle man and live and do business in the midst of their customers, US citizens! Americans think they have the right to tell people a half a world away how to live and use their resources, but we have a toxic dump here that we are in denial of and refuse to clean up. We need to focus on our own problems, then we won't be such victims to the Mexicans. Either we can clean up our country or give up the border states to the illegals and drug cartels. Just remember though, the border will continue to move North! When do we say enough is enough?
If the Mexican government is so concerned about it's people than they need to take care of them instead of treating them like dogs. And the demands of the people here illegally what else would you expect from law breakers. People who risk their lives to cross is their own stupidity I have little sympathy for a fool in the desert. These are not intelligent people that we need here these are fools that are looking to take advantage any way they can.
