The flies immigrated over your border when your kid had the door open. Your border patrol needs to be beefed up. You could have just deported them instead killing them though.

When I was in Texas a few weeks ago, I met this guy who asked me how flies got on the ceiling, upside down. They don't fly upside down, they didn't crawl up the wall, so how did they get there? I have a theory, what do you think?
edit - they fly close to the ceiling and with their front legs extended upwards they hit the ceiling and their body flips around and they quickly grip, my theory
I think this question is pretty lame and you probably should just log off and go to bed and dream up better questions. Either that or beat the kid. Your choice.
The door didn't have to be open very long. It only takes one fly to start more, and one fly could come in the door while anybody was using it.
tell that kid of yours that every time you see a fly in your house, that fly is his dinner for that day.
Make it more real by keeping a fake recipe for fly soup in plain sight, and a show him the bowl that you will keep the flies in after you swat them.
