I am here in US on Student visa can I join the US army?

I want to stay here I love this country I don't wanna leave! Can I join a army position in order to get a green card?

Answer:
No. You need to be a legal permanant US resident.
Probably you can even get your citizenship. It used to be true for people who had temporary green cards. Go talk to a recruiter. The question I have is why would you want to go get killed in a lousy war in Iraq for nothing? Be careful about what kind of contract you sign with a recruiter. Get advice from other students going through it.
I'm glad that you love America.
I think you can join the army. I think i read somewhere that if you join the army, then you can become U.S. citizen.
I would say talk to an army recruiter.
No. You have to be a citizen or Green Card holder.
It may be possible
You do not need to be a US citizen.you would need to see a recruiter.under Army Regulation 601-210 you are able to join the military.I think if it would help you you can look up AR.601-210 on the inter net under military law and Regulation.Just type in Army Regulation 601-210 I do think maybe your visa would have to change from student to work visa first. The Smart thing to do is ask a Recruiter that is there field.Go to more than one never take the first deal get what you want not what the Recruiter needs to make his mission.Good Luck
Thanks for your interest on serving in the U.S. Army. Unfortunately if you join the army you will have to stop going to school. If you stop attending school you will be on the violation of your F-1, student, visa status.

Only United States Citizen and Legal Permanent Residents can join the U.S. Armed forces.
