That's an interesting connection between the Taliban and Mexican immigrants. We know why Mr. Bush would prefer to have the Army fighting the Taliban rather than Mexican illegal immigrants. We all know that Mr. Bush and his supporters benefit from cheap immigrant labor while the Taliban provides no benefits to the American business owners at all. A war with the Taliban provides Mr. Bush with the excuse he needs to push executive power to new levels. We all know that Mr. Bush is hoping that these immigrants will vote Republican once they become citizens. My question to you Mr. free_mark53 is why would Mr. Bush ever think of reversing the situation?

Wall Mart is a top Republican donor. To keep the costs down they want to allow as many illegals they can in to their work and pay them sub minimum.

Did you know that the National Immigration Forum calculated that illegal immigrants contribute greater than $1800 each to the US economy more than they take out on an annual basis. The problem is that the government does not appropriate the funds correctly so that those cities that are providing the most services to the illegal immigrants are not taking the hit. So, illegal immigrants are actually helping parts of the American economy and if the government could get its act together and provide this extra money to our border states to offset the costs then it wouldn't be a problem.
As far as their crimes they commit, no, it's not right, and those that have committed crimes other than crossing the border should not have the right to be here and are usually deported within a year of their sentencing. Your data is probably true, but with all good things comes some bad. These numbers you provide are not some disproportionate amount when compared to the actual number of illegal immigrants in the country. You are skewing the information to make it appear as though the majority of illegal immigrants are criminals when this is not true. For the majority of them, their only crime was crossing the border in search of the "American Dream" that many of them believe can be a reality. In the US we have lost sight of that dream and take for granted everything we have.
Think about what many of these people went through to get here, the families that they left and send money to in hopes of providing them with something better, the wives and children they can't hold again so they can monetarily support them in a horrible economy. Yes, SOME commit crimes other than crossing the border, but not the majority.
