MY father is Italian and I was born in America. Does that mean I can live/work anywhere I want in Europe?
Answer:
--- WAYS TO BECOME AN ITALIAN CITIZEN
AUTOMATICALLY
1. by having an Italian parent(s);
2. by being born in Italy:
including cases in which the parents are unknown, stateless or do not transmit their own citizenship to their child according to the legislation of the State to which they belong, as well as children found abandoned in Italy and for whom it is impossible to determine status civitatis (citizenship);
3. through paternal or maternal recognition while the child is a minor (in cases in
which the child recognised is no longer a minor, he/she is obliged to elect to become a citizen within one year of recognition);---
That's according to the Italian embassy in Washington. It seems you do qualify for citizenship and therefore a passport so you just need the Italian passport to get you around (and therefore work and live wherever in the EU).
yes i believe it does,my friend has the same and shesin canada but her dads italian
No
If you don't have dual citizenship then you cannot work in the EU
i suppose so-your a descent from ya father
If your father is Italian, you might be entitled to Italian citizenship from him, as well as US citizenship from your US birth. You might only have to apply for an Italian passport. But Italian citizenship laws are complex, and you really need to ask the nearest consulate. Here is more information:

I'm Italian too and let me tell ya
everybody in Europe want come in America
and everybody in America they want go in Europe
I come from Europe and I would never go back
even I have to deal with some jackass Americans
NO ! You are an american...not European.(Of course your of European descent) You have no legal cause in Europe.
Unless of course your parents were here visiting or whatever.
If your father never gave up ihis Italian citizenship, in fact you are born Italian citizen. But you have to apply for it.
Once you got your dual-citizenship, you are allowed to move and work inside European Union (not all Europe) freely.
Of course you can still live and work in the EU as an American citizen, but more paper are involved.
Only if you have an Italian passport. If you only have an American one, the answer is no. I'm an American living in Italy.
