Why is there such a push to legalize all the illegals that are here already?
Answer:
There are many issues to having this pushed through. I will enlighten you with what I know on a few of them.
1. Bush needs a victory since the Iraq war isn't cutting it for him.
2. Legalizing illegals will no doubt bring a large majority vote presumably to the Democrats who want to wipe out the Republican party.
3. Legalizing illegals also gives another grant of amnesty to all the businesses who are, and have been hiring illegals. Which will release them again from Federal Laws regarding the punishment for doing so. Makes one wonder how many of our representatives are running businesses and hiring illegals.
In most locations they are already entitled to minimum wage or better. Most Latino organizations have already negotiated those wages to be guaranteed for illegals.
And no it won't help the economy. In fact that is the only issue (of how much it's going to cost the American taxpayers in the end) that our government won't discuss. Not even Bush will discuss the costs. Which has been estimated at 2.6 trillion dollars.
It won't help.
It's purely for the Democrats to get more voters for themselves.

Maybe Bush and the law makers are looking for new meat to send to Iraq.
Its just another step toward the US becoming a third world country. We need to elect people that will not bend over and take pressure up the ***.

Yea, doesn't make much sense to me. If a US citizen tried to smuggle themselves into any other country and gain citizenship, deportation would not be an issue... They would be deported quickly, and without question. I agree w/ the first answerer... I think that the left wing is trying to get itself votes, because they can't win a majority w/o the illegals' votes.

Plenty of people come to the US legally. They learn OUR language, adjust to OUR customs, and BLEND into OUR society. Why people think there's another way, and why US citizens want to give them another way, is way beyond me. Please, if anyone has a legitimate argument as to why WE need to conform to ILLEGAL people, let me know.

I think the push is to save money that it will cost to deport all of the illegals.
Illegal aliens are not "slave labor. They came to the USA of their own free will. They remain here of their own free will(even though American citizens DO NOT WANT THEM HERE). If they were here legally, they would not have to worry about being exploited or taken advantage of. Another reason to deport all illegal aliens.
They are encouraged to leave as soon as possible and don't let the door hit them in the a*s on the way out.

They Never think! Once they get the "Path To Citizenship", they will start demanding Higher wages, benefits, cost of living raises every 6 months, real employment laws that protect workers, Night differential, better housing.
