Hi im in h4 visa my husbund harrisng me lots if i call 911 did they deport me or they can give afeature for me

Answer:
The police might end up arresting YOU. Call a women's abuse hotline, they will help you no questions asked.
police responding to 911 calls related to domestic violence do not ask for immigration status...do not be afraid. call the cops before you get hurt.
No if you call 911 they wont deport you. INS is a completely seperate office. The police actually wont do anything about you being an illegal alien. Call the police if your husband is hurting you.
Please read everything on the following pages and it will help you. If you are still here legally there is nothing he can do and you can call 911. I would say that if you are being beaten, physically or mentally hurt in anyway please report him, These kind of me rule by fear.
They won't just deport you. You are protected in this country. Under the Violence Against Women Act, there is a way you can remain in the US and get permission to work legally. You can go to a women's shelter and you should see an immigration attorney. By all MEANS, CALL THE POLICE when your husband is abusing you. DO NOT BE AFRAID.

Good luck!

Edit --

Sam is right and wrong at the same time. No, as an H4 holder, you cannot get work authorization. But, as the spouse of an H1 who is abusive, as of December 2005, you can make a self petition under the violence against women act (VAWA) and if this self-petition is approved, you will get deferred action status, which will qualify you for a work permit and enable you to remain in the US indefinitely (as long as you renew yearly).
An H4 Visa is issued to the spouse or children of H1B, H2A or H2B or H3 Visa holders. These other categories are for non-immigrants who are in the US for a specific skilled labor position or training (non agricultural).

As an H4 Visa holder, you can not obtain employment or a social security number. Your husband's visa is not an unlimited visa to stay in the US forever and, at some point, you will be required to leave.

If you are in danger, you need to call 911 and protect yourself and your children if you have any. The 911 dispatchers and police will not normally ask for your citizenship status. Even if they did, you are here legally under the H4 Visa.

If your husband is found guilty of abusing you, he likely will not lose his Visa and neither will you. In most cases, it takes multiple violations to garner the attention of ICE. They have enough going on with MS13 and other problems.

You are going to have to go home some day anyway. In the worst case, you will have to go home earlier than planned.

I suspect that your husband does not want to go home any more than you do. Perhaps a night in jail will make him think twice before causing you problems again out of fear that his second arrest might lead to deportation.

Be strong.
Sounds like your husband is an a-hole.
Dont' worry INS and poliice are 2 separate things. Police will never ask for ur visa status, even if u are illegal, they will still help u and protect u.

Whenever u havve a problem, call the police 911, they will help u and put ur husband in jail for a day and take him to court. That should set most of the normal indian guys. If he still harrasses u, then u call 911 again and contact a women's supporting group like WINGS http://www.wingsprogram.com/about.htm... and they can help u with proper guidance, job etc

Basically u can't work on h4 visa, and I am not sure if there is a special provision for victims of domestic violence.

But if WINGS people are someone can help u find a job, then they can file a h1 for u if u have any skills.

you can even contact me and I can help u get a job at any of my friend's companies in Chicago, Houston or Dallas.
