We are due to travel in 30 days time to New York. Both of us a British Citizens. My husband received a custodial sentence of 3 months back in 1979, plus was arrested for a DUI back in 1980. No convictions or arrest since. We have travelled to Canada before under the visa waiver programme with no problem until now.
Answer:
He will need a Visa to enter the U.S. The other problem is, depends on what the other conviction was for. Sometimes Visa's are denied for certain crimes/convictions.
I can't foresee it being a problem. Better contact immigration though. No one on here is an expert (no matter how much they wish they were)
