Who's with me? Farmers Branch citizens just voted and they won.?

I am so happy. I live in Dallas. FB citizens just voted to make it mandetoru for landlords not to lease to illigal aliens. These landlords will be fined if they do not comply. Now it is time for the Nation to follow.

Answer:
I agree. Going after landlords, and employers is the most efficient and economical way to send the illegals home rather that attempting to deport them individually.
When the jobs and housing go away...so does the incentive to be here.
Provided we also keep illegals off the social programs
who fb did that .thats were most the illgals live in dallas i lived there for 11 yrs but moved but they still have fake papers of people who died or stolen idenities so it just makes it harder for them but it does not stop them i think if someone has went threw all the trouble that they go through to get here and some take life threaten risk they should be able to work and make a better life for themselves it may sound crazy but have you ever been down there its not a good site and its very hard to live there goverment dont even run there country gangs do so if you are lucky enough to have a job the gangs will tax that money the mob way its a really hard life they have to take the life threaten risk to get here it worth it to them
Good for them...it is about time we start taking our country back, our government sure isn't helping us.
Now,if ALL of the US would do the same,we might be able to make a difference.
When they tried this in Hazelton,Pa,the illegals just moved down the road, invading and trashing the next town. If all towns followed suit, they would have no where to go but back where they came from.
Right on. Been pulling for you folks since hearing about the bill. Way to go.
It's good news in the short run, but I fear we are going to win the battle, but lose the war
Hurray for Farmers Branch! They are part of the American Resistance agains the Vichy Congress!

Will the history books compare Farmers Branch with the Boston Tea Party?

When a government abandons its citizens, isn't it the duty of the citizens to do something about it?

What would Thomas Jefferson say about this?
I am happy for them. When a handful of people were able to stall this by dragging it through the system and making it go to a vote many of the illegal supporters thought this was a victory (especially since those are the people you saw on the news and read about in the papers). Once it was put to a vote the people spoke and the majority was heard. Now we just need more cities and towns to follow in the footsteps of Farmers Branch.

And "Eric S", you state that illegals are just trying to make a better life, but you also state that many use stolen identities or identities of the deceased...these acts are felonies...they are not victimless crimes...they can ruin the lives of the person whose identity was stolen. You seem to think though that since the illegals managed to get here "for a better life" we should just turn the other cheek to all they do...the "for a better life" is also the same excuse that can be used for drug dealers or thieves...it doesn't work.
I would NEVER be with you on anything.. EVER, do you mean mandatory? And really, who cares about Farmers Branch? Its not like it is a big city that contributes now is it? I wouldn't look for the real cities to follow any time soon..
I think it is great but the fine should be much higher
If we build a Wall and deport them all we do not need new laws we need enforce the old ones before we write new ones
Me too. I live in Texas. Maybe this will create a domino effect and towns and suburbs all across the country will start doing this because the federal government won't.

The fact that these people have the gall to come here in the millions and then demand citizenship is beyond me. You come here illegally, you pay the price. I have seen a multitude of towns and suburbs turn from middle class oasises into illegal alien citadels. This has to stop.

I for one went to school in one of those areas and let me tell all you liberals that live in the wealthiest parts of the cities that constantly lecture us about how we 'need' illegal immigration; you guys are flat out hypocrits and wrong.

P.S.-I'm disappointed in Bush and some of the neocon Republicans and how they've actually not wanted to solve this issue bcs they've sided w/big business. I'm definitley NOT voting for McCain especially as he wants 'comprehensive reform'(I hate the word comprehensive now!).
How will the landlord know if they are illegal? and if the place ain't renting, I'm sure the landlord will rent to whoever s/he wants to get rental income. empty property makes unhappy landlord. I hope Farmers Branch also voted for landlords to not rent to abusers of welfare, food stamps, wic, unemployment, etc. at least the illegals work. what about these American "illegals" who expect the rest of us to pay for their lazy butts. Get rid of them.
