How would I obtain a thai passport if I don't have a birth certificate or any other legal documents?

However, I actually have a valid green card issued by the USA. Help. I would like to travel abroad but too many obstacles

Answer:
Buy one at your local mosque.
you can't - get a copy of your birth certificate!
If you have no legal documents then you will need to ask the Thai consulate what they advise. You will need something as evidence and to have guarantors for your identity.
You can ask a Visa service in Thailand to advise, ppl like TSL Tel 006622518130 might offer some initial help for you.
In the UK a Judge can seek to legitimise birth records for children who have no birth certificate from overseas. You might need to see a solicitor/ Attorney who specialises in Overseas work
You can't, you'd need to get a copy of your birth certificate. Secondly, a green card just gives you permanent residency, not citizenship, so the only passport you can get is that of the country where you have citizenship.
Contact the Thai embassy or consulate here in the U.S.

Incidently, your green card (I-551) will get you in and out of the U.S. so its just a matter of satisfying the requirements of the country you wish to visit.
