We should build the fence and kick out the illegal Mexicans before some politicians think it is a good idea to make us all learn Spanish so we can communicate with them.
Enforce the law, assist Mexico in setting up farms and light industry so their people do not need to leave.
Build the most bodacious fence along our southern border. Then, begin mass deportations immediately thereafter!
Build a fence and deport anyone found here illegally. Give the power to states to deport illegal aliens after a speedy trial. Arm the fence with Cruise Missles, fill the Rio Grande with Crocodiles, or just purchase Mexico and build a fence at Mexico's southern border. Its smaller.
What should be done and what will be done is two different things. I see the government making it super easy to come in the front door instead of jumping the fence. The IRS will track down the illegals already here. The southern and northern borders are going to become huge open roads and all they have to do is take an oath and get registered with SS. Our politicians should be listening to the citizens of the U.S. Over 90% of us want a fence built and the illegal alien drug dealers, gang members, and prisoners kicked back over that fence. Did you know if you commit a murder in Mexico, all you have to do is get into the U.S. and you are free?
It seems like people think that if we don't give them citizenship they will all eventually announce that they are illegal and be willing to go back to Mexico. They won't do that. They will just stay here like they've been doing wasting our tax money. If we give them citizenship we get taxes. If they have already brought down the salary of our jobs giving them citizenship will not bring it down anymore. Also, you need people to do the lower class jobs. In this country all the people mostly have good jobs but, you need people willing to do stuff like working in factories and on farms-this is why we are sending all our jobs over seas but, if we get these illegal immigrants to do these jobs then, we have people doing them here and it won't mess up our economy because the people are living and buying things here helping our economy-not China's economy. Also, if we don’t give them citizenship we will have millions of undocumented people here.
To summarize
They are wasting our money by not paying taxes.
You need people to do lower class jobs.
They will continue to stay here even if we don’t give them citizenship.
We must give them citizenship-it is the only realistic solution.
START ENFORCING THE LAWS!

2.Inforce the immigration laws.
3.Penalties for corporations that hire illegals.
4.Stop being politically correct to ingreats.
5. Donot support politicians that are for this immigration reform bill.
They should be given a set time in which to go home or else. The businesses will also be given the same time limit in order to take in new hires and to not hire any more illegals.
Any illegal or business hiring them will be fined, get possible jail time, and the illegal will get fingerprinted and deported. The fingerprinted immigrants with a bad mark against them for staying past that date will be in the system for when they get caught next time or when they are crossing and get caught. Three strikes, you're out...just like any citizen here. Three strikes, life in prison.
Take the incentives away, such as don't allow them to work under the table, take welfare, food stamps and Medicaid away, and fine employers who keep hiring them..
...Georgia just pasted a law keeping them from having any hospital care other than ER care...and this means no hospitalizations, no nursing home placement, etc.

Secure the borders and the problem will solve itself.

Unlike the last massive amnesty in 1986,this time all involved from corporations to individuals will be put on notice that if they are caught hiring illegals there will be jail time period.
This includes ordinary citizens that hire illegals to do their yard work and a hundred other jobs.This includes the illegal hiring of "nannies"
Existing laws are to be enforced immediately and any new laws required should be passed immediately.
There must be an independant monitoring body put in place that ensures that all legislators from cities,to states to the Congress are put on notice that automatic jail awaits any politician that in any way abuses the system .
It has been the politicians tacit agreement at all levels with corporations and farmers to NOT enforce the laws on the books that has led to the current obscenity.
Some will argue that it is hard to determine if a oerson is legal or illegal.
This pure garbage.Especially since 9/11 the government has a number of sysdtems that will quickly determine the legal status of a person.
The entire key is ENFORCING THE LAW .If no illegals are hired because the hirerer knows jail awaits them ,I assure you the influx of illegals while not drying up will diminish to a trickle .
You're a little late with the Q. America is already addressing the illegal invader problem. Enforcement of the laws. Raids on businesses, and fines. Checking ID's against the workers. If stolen or fraud they are arrested, and detained for deportation.
The fence continues to get built, more illegals caught and deported at the border, and Americans demanding more to be done of their representatives.
Americans are not responsible for Mexico's mismanagement of their own country.
This may need to be a problem taken out of the hands of the President and Congress due to partisan differences unable to reach a good agreement.
By way of a model for solutions, look at
* base closings (I think BRAK)
* trade deals like NAFTA
* national banking system (the FED)
* 9-11 commission
Basically President and Congress lay out some basics of what they want, it goes to the experts, then when the experts are done, there is an up or down vote on the results.
If the border cannot be controlled, then forget about solving the immigration problems. That includes land border with Mexico & Canada, and what comes into the sea ports, and also tiny refugee ships arriving along the coasts.
There's a lot more that I can say about this, but the # 1 issue is dealing with the borders. I do not understand why it cannot be solved. Maybe it is an issue of political will.
There was a war in the 1950's with North Korea. That war never ended officially, but because it was a police action maybe that not matter. The border between North and South Korea is blocked with all kinds of fences, land mines, etc. North Korea occasionally builds a tunnel, manages to go around the border, but the USA is doing a pretty good job there of sealing the border.
Can that be done on other borders, like for Israel, but without the land mines?
During the Vietnam War, there was the notion of laying an electronic border that would detect any illegal crossings. I do not know if that was propaganda rhetoric or whether that technology really exists. But even seeing all the folks crossing the border illegally not help. We currently have cameras watching them coming across, citizenry who can watch the video on the Internet, call in incidents to the Border Patrol.
Stop feeding Mexico! Put an embargo on Mexican vacations until the Mexican government helps to stop the flow of their citizens to America. Why should we have to do all of the "keeping out".
Another thing we can do is bill the Mexican government for the needs we provide the illegals with, like health care, food stamps,etc.
Seal the border. Give border agents the right to defend themselves and start with massive sweeps of cities like Miami and L.A. Oh, don't forget to have the national guard at every immigration rally checking for citizenship.
