How could this immigration bill end the republican party?

I keep hearing people in the media say that if the immigration bill had passed (you know... the whole z-visa thing) that it would mean the end of the republican party because all of the new immigrants would vote democrat so they get their "entitlements". This is true I'm sure, and it clearly is a demographic shift in the US.

QUESTION: Most these people likely would not become CITIZENS because it would cost 5000 bucks and for other reasons... and as far as I know you have to be a CITIZEN in order to vote for president and vote in state elections. SO, if the immigrants can't vote, how on earth does this mean the end of the republican party??

Answer:
Iraq and corruption will do the Republican party in, not immigration.
Simple...

Illegal immigrants vote for democrats.

the new bill would have essentially made it legal for illegal immigrants to vote. Add appx 12 to 20 million (illegal) democrat voters and no republican could win.

Democrats don't want to allow laws requiring picture ID for voting because it might hamper the illegal immigrants at the polls.
when they get the right to vote democrat because they give them the bennies.
people still vote even if they are not who they are.
No, it would end the Republican party because conservative Republicans (as opposed to neocons) would leave in droves.

But you noticed that the Democrats defeated an amendment to make voters show ID that said they were entitled to vote, didn't you? I wonder why they didn't want that.
You are correct in your assumptions - only citizens can vote & very few illegals want to be citizens. Some because of the $5000 & some because they do not like the USA, they want to stay Mexican & just use our resources thus sending money home. Either way it would not destroy the Republican party, a couple of elections & the new citizens would learn the Democrats do not have an endless supply of money to fund the "pie in the sky" free benefits.

It will destroy our minority teir though. For the 1st time ever, Hispanics will be the largest minority followed by African Americans, Democrats will cater to the largest voting block.
No, actually you don't have to be a citizen to vote. It is illegal for you to vote if you are not a citizen but that does not mean that illegal aliens don't vote. La Raza Unida has publically bragged that they were registering voters.
In order to register you check the box that you are a citizen. It is illegal to ask if you are a citizen. As Dar pointed out, the Dems voted down a bill that would have required ID to vote.

You are assuming that these people will follow the law. They are here illegally to begin with and if La raza tells them to register they will register. How do you think Antonio VillaLaRacist got elected in LA?

Now as far as the $5000.00, they would have removed that provision just like they removed the "pay back taxes" provision. Whether or not they actually became citizens why should they? They already got a better deal than citizens so why bother.
Be careful what you say. Back in 1992, there were a lot of conservatives predicting the end of the Democratic Party. Then some unknown, I think his name was "Clinton", from some hick state called Arkansas, united the Democratic Party and served as President for two terms.
As the title reads if this bill passes over the next 8 to 10 years we will see an end to our two party system and the death of the Republican Party.

10 to 30 million new Americans over the next decade, Two-thirds of which will choose the Democrat Party due to entitlements, misinformation, and peer pressure. That’s a drastic redefinition of our country and the utter evaporation of the Republican Party. That is something we just can not allow to happen! Just by being counted in the census, illegals give political power to special groups. Many illegals fraudulently vote anyway and there is strong evidence that some key elections have been upset by illegal voters. Politicians represent the "people" even if those people are illegal aliens. Since the number of representatives in congress is fixed, any increase in population in California, for example, due to illegal immigration will require more representation for that group while taking away representation from people in other states. Most politicians that represent areas of large illegal population, vote in the interest of illegal aliens since they are the ones they represent. On the state level, it is clear that politicians like Governor Davis, California Speaker of the House Antonio Villaraigosa, California Senator Hilda Solis, California Assemblyman Gilbert A. Cedillo, etc., all want laws changed in the interest of illegal aliens.
because it would divide the party in half on the issue. This would cause a backlash in the party and then people would probably just not vote in the next election which would allow the democrats more power. Look at what happened in this last election. Also, it would make the possibility of a 3rd party candidate look good who would come around and take a percentage of the votes away and democrats would take over.. look at what happened when Clinton was elected. But the main reason is look at all of the legal immigrants in this country.. they have friends, family, etc who they would like to see come here.. who do u think they will vote for.. so yes, this would of had a huge impact on the republican party.. but i think the party is in trouble anyway...
they can't vote.

the republican party will end next year in NOV. and then for real on Jan. 09.
