Why do illegals have so many children and expect the government to pay them welfare?

Answer:
I believe that is lack of intelligence and poor upbringing
Because we let it happen through welfare or social security. I am afraid until social security crashes Americans won't stop it.
You answered your own question. First one is to 'anchor' them in the country (not really working that well anymore), the rest are for those wonderful gov't checks so their lazy butts can pack 25 to a 1 bedroom apartment.
Poor man's mentality, lack of knowledge, societal and cultural issues (from their own culture).

Who knows!!
Do they Rachel?

Do they?
Inform yourself and read the following. Illegal immigrants are NOT eligible for welfare or food stamps.

Current Status
Illegal immigrants are ineligible for public assistance, but are able to get it under false pretenses sometimes. Legal immigrants are eligible for certain benefits, under certain circumstances, though a waiting period is often involved.
Background
Although illegal immigrants are ineligible for welfare, food stamps and other public service programs, they can obtain some of them by using false identification papers. It's a big business and not difficult to create an identity for this purpose.
Other services, such as walk-in clinics, do not ask for identification at all, so patrons can simply make-up a name and social security number to get treated. Furthermore, hospitals, even if they know someone is an illegal alien, will not turn them away, and will not report them. All human beings must be treated for serious conditions. Even if facilities did report illegal aliens, the United States only has enough resources to deport a small fraction of all deportable aliens, and will always go after those who are commiting more serious crimes first.

All legal immigrants used to be eligible for welfare, food stamps and Medicaid. The 1996 law dictated that they would have to go through a long waiting period first. For example, family sponsors of new immigrants must provide an affidavit of support, proving their income and promising to support the immigrant for up to 10 years, which includes reimbursing the government for any public services the immigrant takes advantage of. The 1996 law has been softened to restore some of the benefits, under certain circumstances, but human, civil liberties and immigration advocates feel there is a long way to go.
BarB, she asked about welfare to the children not the parents. And they do get food stamps and aid to families with dependant children.

THey dont get welfare ... but them darn sure get free healthcare and public education.
WELFARE?? ILLEGALS PAY TAXES SO THEY PAY FOR THEIR OWN WELFARE!!!!!

PROUD TO BE MEXICAN!!!
Because Amrica is a "FREE" country. Anybody and everybody who sets foot on American soil gets a free lunch.
Because they can.
it's not only illegals, it's the American latino, Asian, and black families. you make it seem as if it's only illegals causing all the problems.
why do we have many children? that was the old day girl ...and they get welfare because once they are born in the US they are citizens like it or not... or you gonna denied help to you own citizens because there parent are ellegals? think first b then talk ...and Mexican do pay taxes acctually they pay more then you.. year after year comes taxes you get you refund while most of them cant file there taxes and get there refund ... cause believe it or not ... they dont make alot of money to where they owe at the end of the year ... so they loose all that money..year after year.
It happens in the United Kingdom them aswell
I have not answered questions for a long time. I have been selfishly busy doing other things. But this question is quite intriguing. A very interesting question that all of us should think about... deeply.

The reason people tend to have many children were basically rooted in religion, to health, education, and economics. For instance, this is prevalent in the agrarian and emerging industrial societies. The more children, the more hands to till the land, or in emerging industries the more child labor that could be put to work (i.e. China). Another reason bandied around is the high mortality rate amongst people unable to afford quality health care. Thus the high child bearing rate is viewed as a means of offsetting the high death rates. Another factor is religion... catholics in general bears more children because the birth control sanctioned by the church is a joke. The last factor of course is education... the more well informed a couple is, the less inclined they are to have more babies.

The above is true whether you are an illegal, legal, or native american. This truism honors no boundaries. In other words, it is not unique to the United States, nor is it unique to illegal immigrants.

Whether or not there is a conscious plan among illegal immigrants to palm over the responsibility of rearing children to our welfare system is debatable. But what is clear is that those children are natural born American citizens. When the parents and society fails to provide for these kids... such failure in effect promotes the nurturing of future dead beats, perhaps criminals too, by making sure these kids would not be able to fend for themselves and be productive members of society. We are in effect creating future wards to the dole system... alienated and dangerous even. It's a catch 22.

The follow up question, perhaps, should be what should we do about it?
Illiegals - Laziness and poor education

Government - cos they made it easy for people to take advantange.

Poor innocent babies/children.
