Did you hear Sen. Voinovich today?

He was interviewed by Sean Hannity and told him "that he would not be intimidated by people calling and telling him how to vote on the immigration bill" He said he has "been doing this job for 40 years" and would vote how he saw fit. When did he stop representing what the majority wanted?

Answer:
I think he started voting the way he wanted a long time ago. He sure hasn't represented the people for a long time. I don't know why he and so many keep getting re-elected. With a public statement like that maybe it's time for a recall.
He will be sorry when he loses all his votes
They all have this attitude.

And the sad thing is...most will get voted in again.
time to retire that fool.
He better do what GWB tells him or no payout's!
Right, time for the good Senator to retire then, before the electorate forcibly retires him .. which hopefully will be in 2008 ...
well the answer to your question lies in... your question... ' he hbeen doing this job for 40 years' how long does it take to lose touch with a contituency you never see anymore because you been in washington so long. oh... alot less than 40 years...

I think two terms, which is 12 years, is enough for a Senator.
I understand he didn't even know what he was talking about and admitted he hadn't even read the bill.
Yes, he did such a great job with the amnesty of 1968, why should he spoil his winning streak
Heard it. He just sealed his fate. But then again, 40 years is long enough.
I did not hear him but he obviously folded on this issue and made a decision his people do not agree with and his people should call for his resignation! GOd Bless my minority white bottom!
Unfortunately some feel that way. Look at Lindsey Graham. First time in, and see how he smarted off about it. He said he'd pass the bill to shut those (Americans) bigots up. Now look at the heat he getting from his constituents in South Carolina. He doesn't have such a big mouth anymore, but he still intends on passing this bill how he sees fit.

There's a talk radio host out there who says this when speaking about all politicians... "Despite my conflicts, and my personal opinion on the issues... I have to answer to the people who elected me into office". He's right. Our politicians personal conflicts, and personal opinions have to be put aside. And politicians must vote the way their constituents expect them to. Meaning if they are against this bill their representatives had better be voting against it too.
he was sickening!!
