Children born on US soil to illegals?

Does anyone know about provisions in new plan to limit the rights of automactic citizenship to children born to illegals? I am thinking that this right should be limited to only those people that are here legally. This would include those here on student visas, green cards, etc. I think if anyone is here illegally, the child of that person SHOULD NOT be deemed a US citizen upon birth UNLESS the father is a citizen. All of the children already born here could be grandfathered in, but all new births would have to meet the criteria. To be clear, I mean ANYONE that is not here legally. This might include Canadians, Germans, Russians, Egyptians, Mexicans, Greecians, etc. This is not a racial thing for me, it is a legal and financial thing.

Answer:
I think that children of illegals should have the same status as their parents.
Well that is backwards because they were born on US soil. So their not exactly mexicans. They are not hear illegal because they dint sneak over the border did they. So denying them citzenship is pretty redundant.

Dont like my opinon well I dont care bring on the thumbs down
Why only if the father is a citizen? I think if either parent is a citizen the child should be also. If both are illegal then the child should not be considered a US citizen. I don't believe the bill addressed this issue at all. The reason for that could be that few people would be considered illegal if it passed.
i9 think they should not be legal unless both parents are legal. the 14th amendment does not apply to illegals born in the USA. it refers to black people.
no, and it wouldn't matter. they would still be here and go to school and later become citizens even if their parents weren't. it's not right. you are thinking too much about this whole issue of immigration. just because the reform bill did not pass doesn't mean you get to now find a new way to make these people's lives a living hell.
children born on u.s. soil are natural citizens. even if their parents are illegal.

I worked for the department of social services and although the children born here were elegible for aid as citizens the parents remain illegal.
I think if one parent is a citizen, the child should be a citizen. If both are illegal, the child should be considered illegal. I realize that he/she was born here and had no choice of what there parents did, but if both parents are illegal the child should not be considered a citizen until the parents become legal citizens.
well guess what its not going to change! its the law if you are born here you are a citizen
